U.S. equity indexes are pointing to a higher open this morning, following record gains last week.
The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100 are up about 0.1 percent. The indexes ended last week strongly, as the SPX posted a record high close and the NDX hit another 13-year high, boosted by positive quarterly numbers from Amazon.com and Microsoft.
European markets are mixed, with France’s CAC 40 falling by about 0.5 percent but the German DAX and U.K. FTSE basically flat. Most Asian indexes rebounded overnight from last week’s steep losses, led by a 2 percent rally in Japan’s Nikkei and a 0.5 percent rise in Hong Kong’s Hang Seng.
Commodities are little-changed as oil and copper trade slightly lower. Gold and silver are down by about 0.15 percent and 0.2 percent respectively.
